Driving to the laundry and
putting in one big load of all my clothes basically including my cooking pants and whites.
The timer read 27 minutes so I grabbed my sneaks and raquet and headed across the street to the tennis courts .
I began by hitting on the wall.
I was concentrating on getting my raquet back in one loop before comming forward with the raquet either my forehand or backhand. Also I was focusing on following through. The wall I practice on is inside it’s own fence which limits how hard and from how long away from the wall you can hit the ball. I usually have to stay in and just hit it slow and soft. Which involves a bit of touch because of how raquets are made now and how much response you get from today’s high tech string; they aint your grand dads pigeon intestines : )
I practice my serve motion as I always I do when I hit on the wall . My serve motion, my toss, my getting into trophy position with my right elbow bent (which I experienced today gives way to more pop onto the ball).
My toss is consistent.
I hit 4 or 5 balls on the actual tennis court all of which were from odd places such as 4 feet behind the base line on each side. I served a couple from the service line. It’s kind of weird but the coach told me that hey did a study where one group hit all of their serves from the same spot each time. The other group hit their serves practicing from all over the court way back up on the service line etc.
The second group, the group that served from all over the place had a higher percentage of first serves going in than did the first group.
So mix it up when you practIce your serve next time.
My foot is doIng ok. Even though I only hit on the wall for 20 minutes. Having the second insole (arch support) in each tennis shoe
may have helped. Let’s see after I play 2 sets.
My new arch support flip flops I got from the drug store are great. I think it’s huge to have support in my arch after playing and I really don’t want to wear birks.
I haven’t been taking ibuprofen the last two days.
Which is good for my stomach.
I did my Sun Salutation when I got home to warm down.
I work in the kitchen tomorrow at 4pm.
