Back hand slice

Man are my biceps ripped from my hour long #tennis lesson yesterday. I wrote about it last night but I was a bit spent. Even though what I had just learned was fresh in my mind, my body was dead tired so I couldn’t find it in me to write on last night.
I really enjoyed my lesson I had with Robert @ #tamarind reef in #greencay marina stx.
We hit for an hour straight.
He touched on how important the return on serve shot is.
We started at the service line worked on groundies(ground shot) upstroke brushing the ball. Then worked on volley where the ball is going raquet to raquet not hitting the ground,up on the net.
Having me move back To the base line Robert asked to see my backhand. I showed my one hand backhand from the ground. He got that stroke and commented on it’s usefulness. However he made a greater argument for the back hand slice which is win the raquet is moving downward from a cocked position uphigh. This way of hitting gives you a better chance of making a strong shot when the ball is high, way left, very low whereas the groundies are for when it’s in or somewhat near the strikezone.
The ground stroke back hand is where your hands are against your pocket as your core is twisted back my left shoulder being behind me my right shoulder as far over to the left as I can bring it dipping it down, making sure the raquet plane is facing down before I contact with a brush up motion.
We played balls to a point.
He called out the different shots I was to make as he hit them to me. Inside out, slice down the line moon popper or whatever the name was for lobbing it high when someone is on the net!
Last but not least I had to hit 10 balls that he hit to me to stop, if the ball I hit went out it didn’t count. I think I missed three. Hetook it to eleven. Boy was I winded.
My head felt like it was going to explode, all the bad stuff I’ve been consuming is screaming bloody hell fire from the center of my head.
But in some wicked way it feels pretty good…
